| What a shame you haven't seen (noticed! They camouflage themselves so well!!) yet as you are a fan, they are brilliant to watch if they don't jet off too quickly. Watched 2 males (?) jostling over a female? for ages in the Red Sea once on a night dive. The giant cuttlefish I saw at the Great Barrier reef seemed more placid than the british ones. I love seeing anything , fish or mammal, as big as or bigger than me!! |

But for me, it's seeing dolphins. When I had 6 of them swimming around me in the Red Sea, it made up for all those zero viz dives in the UK!! |

| Tunicates are what? Cephelapods are very nice to watch and always put a smile on my face, but what really gives me a huge sense of awe and wonderment on a dive is a free swimming salp. Did I ever mention that I think tunicates are mad? example 1. boring but amazing reading Sea Squirt Regrows Entire Body from One Blood Vessel | LiveScience example 2. Short and beautiful films of salps http://www.oceanfootage.com/video_clips/EK02_021 from http://www.oceanfootage.com/stockfootage/Salp Just a self replicating mobile digestive tract - the mother and father of us all. Has a spinal-chord as a baby, then settles down and re-absorbs it. Wow! |
