| Did some diving off Sorrento last year, and it was fun. Lots of colourful life, and some interesting rocky stuff to swim around. Also, on one dive, there were a load of handily placed Catholic shrine type things (can't remember the actual name) to view at 5m stop. Excellent snorkelling (possibly better than the dives we did). We ended up hiring a little motor boat for a day from Positano, heading into the marine reserve and just jumping in where it looked interesting. Last edited by paul_e : 22-04-08 at 05:57 PM. |

| costa del pasta I'm in calabria for the last 2 wks in August. Looking for a couple of dives out of Cetraro, Cirella or local to Belvedere Marittimo. Any pointers would be welcomed. |

| Portofino - was doing my OW there and love the place! Whole peninsula is a marine park with lots of fishes, nice rock formations, some caves and wrecks. Its quite 'posh' though and probably more expensive than another places in Italy. |

| What do you want to do with the family and how old are the kids?? Gardaland near lake Garda is a cracking theme park for youngsters and the film studios are worth a visit. There is some (limited) diving in the lake. Half a days drive to Portofino area. Chris

Chrisch 2 kids, an 18 year lad and a 12 year old lass. I was thinking of just of just taking a week ( maybe two ) with just a days ( or two) of diving. So nothing hard and fast as yet. Thanks for the post. Chris |
