| There's a nice Nat Geog article about it here (Japan's Ancient Underwater "Pyramid" Mystifies Scholars) I remember hearing about this a while ago (maybe in Fortean Times?) and it does sound fascinating. I'd love to visit. |

| Yonaguni..... Yeah...... it's a famous destination here. I haven't been there yet myself - it's not a cheap trip! There's a lot of debate as to whether the formations are natural, or man-made. The site is usually very high current which makes it a fast drift dive. I have a mate who went there and the dive plan was to get down to the bottom as quick as poss and shelter behind a wall - then when everyone's ready just move into the current and drift. February is a good time to do it. It's cold, but at the end of the drift as you get blown out into blue water there are hundreds of schooling hammerhead sharks. I believe it's a mating location for them. I'll get there one day..... |
