Not hacked just broken.

It is using absolute rather than relative addressing. Links point to the hard drive ie: "c:" not "http:" so your browser is looking for the pages on your hard drive. It will work for the developer because they have the files on their hard drive, but not anyone else!

Designing websites is not as easy as people think and the web is full of sites like this.

I teach people to develop websites at masters degree level and it is disheartening when they have to give up the business because they are always being undercut by "a bloke down the pub who will do it for a few pints"

The new site works fine, they need to setup a redirect as google is pointing to the old site.

But then the link to Wraysbury doesn't even go to the temporary holding site for the actual lake it just fails

So, there is now no website actually for Wraysbury the inland dive site

Don't worry, the Real Life Wraysbury will still be there. Good job Cookie didn't need a website when he went looking for the Great Southern Land eh?

Actually, just being serious for a moment (!) remember the old days when we just rang the Cinema, queued outside the Apollo for Thin Lizzy tickets; just turned up at the station to buy tickets for the train or stayed up the night before a dive to listen to the Shipping Forecast? Or even went and tried out a dive site on spec because it looked prospective on a map or chart, no GoogleEarth, just get in there and check it out. How ever did we manage?
