scrap lead price?

hi folks
I've about 35 kg of solid scrap lead which i found at the back of the garage after a clearout.anybody have an idea of prices at present,i've been offered 80p/kg,is that about right.or am i being ripped off.
i know i'd get more if i turned it into weights, but it seems too much of a faff, and dangerous for a cack handed bugger like me!!!

Fraser.

Just a thought (and I know the logistics would be crap)... but...

I bet every member of YD has spare lead kicking around (I know I do) - but what about if the lead was collected and donated to YD and bulk sold - with the money raised going to one of the charities?

Possible collection points dive shops/sites??

Good idea

Or get someone with a mould to turn it all into V or P weights and sell it on for about £15/kg

So about 50p a pound or £1.10 a kilo in bulk.

So 80p for small quantities is respectable, making some profit after handling costs when they sell it on.
Roughly: You get £28 and they get £10

Looking at what it costs us to paperwork a purchase I wouldn't touch that sort of deal but a scrap metal dealer must have a simpler system.
