You would have found out a lot earlier if you hadn't ended up miles away from the rest of us :-)

How two people can be on the same boat as us for a whole weekend and dive completely different sites is a mystery!!!!

I don't know you either but feel like joining in the general calls of muppetry...I of course have never done this.

Did wonder why I couldn't sink last time out in Plymouth tho, only to realise my weightbelt was still on the boat. However a very kind rib seeing my dilema, after much shouting, offerred to go to the hardboat and pick it up for me while I hung on the shot. Went off and came back with the wrong one, which meant that the hard boat had to come back and pick me up. In the meantime the 1/2 dozen other dive boats in the area were circling, pointing and being somewhat loudly derogatory about my general diving abilities. So I think I managed to keep the whole thing quiet and not broadcast my plonkerdom at all............still, at least I was warm !!

I would generally mock and chastise, however managed to do exactly the same thing a month ago when teaching a Rescue course. Got out of the water, PADI hi-fives all round to a course well done (and well taught, obviously!), only to realise that I'd forgotten to show everyone how to do a lifeguard lift out of the water. Muggins here jumps in, start splashing around with gusto and encouraging the students to come and haul me out, only to realise that I'd unzipped my drysuit and only had one of those silly fluffy bear suits underneath. One cold Nat!! I lasted a couple of dunks though, couldn't lose face even more than I already had

Nope. Touch wood, i have never jumped in without my zip done up properly. i would hate to do it and would probably cry.

I have pointed out to divers on at least three occasions when they have been about to do so.

(although i have jumped in without a weightbelt. Just being environmentally freindly, going for Lead free Diving )

PADI dive manual says the B in BWRAF is for BCD, its not it's for buoyancy. If you squirt a bit of air into your drysuit and it dosen't come out of your dump valve then your zip isn't closed.

TIP Always do a BWRAF on yourself before leaving the car, as it saves you looking a plonker at the waters edge with everyone watching.

I have done many daft things but I have always noticed myself before anyone else had the opportunity to take the p1ss by following this little technique.

By the way Dave you're a pussy I would still have done the hour
