Jayzus, talk about going off on a tangent???
Steve went to this thing curious about the DIR style. Liked what he saw skills wise but went away not quite convinced if this was the DIRection (do ya like that??) he wanted to take.
Why does it have to be handbags at ten paces when someone shows a bit of enthusiasm for something that's new to them. DIR isn't a big thing in Ireland (not that it's exactly huge in the UK for that matter) and I know there are many threads on here going over and over the good and bad elements but I wonder are people just looking for DIR in the thread title so they can grind the auld axe.
I understand that threads like Lostdivers recent one don't help by the way.

If I posted a CMAS/BSAC/PADI/SSI....yeah right I have seen the light thread would people react the same way??

Steve, you didn't have to set fire to my kit and steal my lunch money after training though just coz you went to a DIR session you know

Play nice kiddies.

Panick ye not. Global warming should bring the sea a lot closer to lots of people?

When DIR related posts are in the open, so to speak, they `become fair game`, don`t take it too seriously. Sorry to hear Steve is not pursuing it further, his buoyancy control is very good. No matter, it was nice to meet with him.

Good if you run a dive business

Not too sure about the quarry thing that all sounds a bit pointless to me. Still don't get why people bother... it seems as if every diver in the country goes to them these days. We were getting 15m viz last week, and a local lad popped in the shop to get his tank filled. I asked him where he was going diving... "Chepstow" he said "to the NDC" !!!!!! he said he hadn't dived in the sea much, and was going up there with a friend. Defies belief if you ask me....

As has been mentioned i live by the sea and i can dive in lundy every day but i dont ram it down peoples throat quarries are needed to keep skill (for those that dont live near the sea) sharp and good luck to them

Anyway.... sorry what were we talking about, fatties v's DIR again?

Cheers for the RED brian glad to know my comments really do piss you off, I must be Doing It Right Dohh

personnel comment by return
