1) Juz & Digger will "win" or maybe Chasey will, I am not sure and if Mark Ellyatt bothers to post then he will win YD is such a broad church that we get some really top divers involved.

2) It reflects the "wrong" side of scubadiving. It should be not about being competitive, in my view. Unfortunately it's about the only thing the industry seems to be able to do.....send people deeper more quickly.

3) Why not qualify the question with "How much enjoyment did you have whilst you were doing the dive?" I am convinced my more more pleasurable dives were quite shallow.

Sorry for being grumpy ..... as to the OP I'd "beat" some but lose to others.
Mal
So how deep then Mal?

I was going to post agreeing with Mal, but then I suppose it'd be a bit of a 'do as I say not as I do' post.

So I find myself covered in creosote from this fence.

Usually not a problem ............ doing it slow enough, well that's another story. I def wouldn't have done that dive in the usual English Channel conditions.

Is the English Channel water more breathable or less dense than abroad?

Rosalie Moller

I'll and another high from my week away ... kneeling on the sea bed at 48m looking up at the bow of the Rosalie Moller was awesome ..... having Typhoons moring rope snap whilst me and deepestandy were completing our stops ...wasn't so hot ....

Oh and the sweet smell of turd in cabin 10 seemed to have gone ... although i only stuck my head round the door for a bit of YD investigation......

Do you know what, Mal, I hadn't read this thread as competitive at all! I read it as curiosity and discussing not "nah, nah, na, nah, nah". Funny how a thread can be read with different perspectives!

No, but it's much, much, much, much scarier! And darker! And has the whiff of death about it!

Mal, tsk, tsk, now you are just being silly. Everyone knows English Channel water is MUCH MUCH more scary!

Perhaps it is like doing base jumping during the day or during the night? You can still hit the ground very hard but one just seems much easier?
