Lame i know! I'm only a lowly sports diver though and only started diving last summer.

Lets av you then where have you been and to what depth and with what equipment - and how long did it take you to train to get to that level?

Naomi so the real question reading between the lines is Terry can I please borrow Nic's twins and try and kill myself before I have got the experience and qualifications to do so ?

Oh and my last dive was about 9m, Twin 12's

Agree with Mal on this one

Max depth for me is 34m on Nitrox in tropical waters.

I generally don't dive deeper than 25m. My last dive happens to be 24m in Co. Galway. Water temp was about 9C I think.

I'm as happy doing a 5m dive as I am a 30m dive. For me it's about what I want to see, if that happens to be deep I'll go deep, if it happens to be just a few metres down then that's grand also.

A friend I occasionally dive with is all about depth 'no point diving unless it's 30m+' kinda way. I just switch off, can't be bothered with that kinda talk!

Incidentally I love night diving. For me a 5m dive at night is worth 10 deep dives on the enjoyment stakes.

Exactly. My deepest, 124m in Loch Ness, feck all bottom time (on a twinset), nothing to see even if there was time to spare because the vis was about 1m all the way, even if the vis was good there'd still be nothing to see because there was nothing there. 90min spent with nothing to see or do apart from thinking how cold and bored I was. Most pointless dive I've ever done in my life. I did it to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was the biggest waste of time I've ever had in the water.

Best dives, probably freediving round the west coast of Scotland in about 10-15m.

I don't think it is competetive and Mal is just playing Devil's Advocate. I happen to know he dived to 65 mtrs just using a Spare Air. When I say "know" I probably mean "imagined"?

My deepest was about 32m in Sharm but it was before I got a computer so my logbook says 30m

Deepest on the computer is 29m in Dahab in The Canyon.

Most of my dives are above 20m in fact many are above 10m with the likes of Blue Lagoon and Trefor Pier

No. The real question is exactly like i asked how long did it take to reach this level?

I realise that my diving for at least the rest of this season will not warrant using twins nor am i in a hurry to add more weight to lug around on my back.

For me ....... hundreds (4 or 5?) of dives and whilst I was still regularly doing 30-40 mtr boat dives off Sussex. I also new about my SAC and other methods of planning a dive.
