He is/was. He's got a KISS and passed MOD 2, but hasn't used it for over year. It's been sitting in the corner of the kitchen - don't know why he doesn't flog the bloody dangerous thing.

There was one other guy on the course (not on YD).

He was a bit conflicted ref the rebreather. He's been doing deeper dives this year with Brian Allen, and obviously wasn't able to use the KISS for those, so has gradually gone back to OC for lack of a rebreather buddy (and lack of practice) more than anything.

And it's not so much a conversation as a long-standing animated discussion

Obviously? Why obviosly? Surely a RB comes into it's own on a deep dive? What with recycling He and O2 and ................................

Bloody dangerous? A KISS? A Keep It Simple Stupid? I thought they were supposed to be the safest you can get on a CCR in terms of failure points etc?

Are you jealous because you haven't got one?

Congrats to Paul on officially coming out and passing.

Because Brian's a GUE instructor and can't dive with Paul if he's using a RB.

Paul bought the KISS as he thought he'd be doing deeper dives, but his life changed shortly afterwards ( ), he moved down here and started full-time work as a PADI instructor. Deep diving went out the window last year, and he's only just getting back into it again, but it won't be with the RB.

I think the KISS is possibly the 'safest' of the CCRs, but it's still waaaay too risky for me. I'm not jealous, 'cos I could use the bloody lump of plastic that's currently gathering dust in my kitchen, were I foolish enough
