| We do in Norwich. We've got whittlingham where we dive the great broad. Found 7 meters so far going searching for more tonight and then we've got the mills. There's a serious lack of dive locations round here!! |

| Only once or twice when myself and a mate went diving up at Devil's Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale over winter. Mainly, I went up to see what it was like and, despite it being mind-numbingly cold (the gauge read 1 Celcius at one point, 2 when it was feeling cheeky), it was quite interesting. I don't think it's something I could do week in, week out, but for a change it was alright. I'd definitely give other rivers a go if anyone had any recommendations. Although I do remember reading the story in National Geo a while back about that river in Slovakia I think it was that is turning up seriously old artifacts on a regular basis... that would be fun.

| my first ever attempt on scuba was in the thames, a neighbour of mine was using his kit to do some work on the boat and I was asking all the usual questions so he offerd me a go. Absolutely zero vis and I couldn't make myself suck on the reg underwater at all. Brain was insistent that it was a bad idea

Bridges cross rivers. (I know they cross train tracks and motorways and things too, but it's difficult diving them! Before any of you start getting clever... )That seems like a good reason to dive a river. Tut, man... did you not watch Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels? Pete

| I've had a couple of dives in the Lune under Devils Bridge. One of them was done as a night dive - didn't like this too much as my eyesight at night is poor for getting down and up riverbank sides. Eels come out to play. Is rather shallow and can run a bit. Just did it in winter as a change from Capernwray. Been there and done it like 3 visits to Hodge, don't want to repeat the exercise though.
