Lost card. Can I dive??? Hi all. Hope someone can help here as my world is about to stop:-( 2005 on honeymoon got my open water certificate with padi in dom rep. 2006 got advanced diving certificate in dom rep north. 2006 got 2 more dives in in mexico. Then disaster struck. Due to personal issues I wasnt able to get away on holiday. so i have not dived since nov 2006. But all is not lost. Am going to cuba on wednedsay to dive. Tonight I was getting everything together and I cant find my Padi advanced diver card. Help. Does this mean I cant dive. Someone please give me a way out of this John

just use your open water card ? if you can lay your hands on it ! sorted!

| The card should be a niggle rather than a problem. They should be able to look your qualification up on the computer... Think that you might have to do a refresher if no logged dives for 12 months though? Could be wrong...

I thought if you hadn't dived for more than 6 months a Scuba review was needed but I guess as CUBA isn't PADI then it doesn't matter anyway. Last edited by Fiona : 25-05-08 at 08:14 AM.

I think it could depend on who you dive with overseas too, they may request a review or the very least a 'check dive' like some on the Maldives do. If in doubt & you have the time I'd get a Scuba Review done locally, your local shop / club will do the for around £20 - £25.
