| Peeps, your help is needed. I like maps and love planning a journey. Both Eeyore and I were going to plan the roads for Scapa but we haven't yet had a chance due to respective work commitments. We leave Saturday morning. I am more than happy to plot the route to Scapa using my AA Roadmap Altas and Google Maps tomorrow - however, not knowing the topography of Scotland I'm afraid I may have us taking the high roads and low roads and missing the ferry. Any advice on the quickest way to Scapa via South Tyneside and the A1? I will be navagator on the journey*. Cheers. Hxxx *My road navigation skills are far superior to my underwater nav, so we do stand a chance of actually getting there ![]()

The A9 is good though, up to Inverness. North from there |

| Babe - there is no choice A9 all the way. I do not know where you are coming from but: From the West go M6, Stirling, A9and on and on and on and on.... From the East go A1 Edinboro A9 and on and on and on and on.... |

| My favourite is the the aa site Route Planner (GB) : Maps and directions - The AA I presume you are getting the scrabster ferry?

| I prefer the cross country route thro' Jedburgh too rather than the A1. Then straight up the A9. A long trip, mostly on single carriageway roads but some interesting scenery on the way. |
