Your theory sounds completely plausible, because the noise started after Turbs fiddled with the first stage (he's a qualified Scubapro technician so is allowed to).

Sounds like a Mk20/25 with a slightly "out" IP

When Little Naughty and I do our ladydives from the beach, our bail-out plan is 'stand up'

When I first switched from A-clamp to DIN I'm sure that breathing sounded "different". I think that now I'm used to the DINs that my wife noise filter has stepped in an filtered that too.

I've always dived with DIN, but the theory about the servicing having jiggled something sounds plausible to me.

It might be air in your eustacian tubes. Or your fallopian tubes come to that. Although being a lady I'm sure you'd notice.

It could be that you're just too used to voices from machinery. Think about the average day...

My alarm clock tells me to get up.

My satnav tells me which direction to take.

My computer tells me I have mail.

My table lamp tells me to kill people.

Just an average day.
