| David, I think you misunderstood, but I was not complaining, just asking if there was a reason why this happened, there may have been a good reason there may not, hence the question. For instance the issue date could be construed as misleading I would expect it to be "qualification date" As I previously been sent qualification cards for both qualifications I was curious as to why more turned up. My previous cards were not marked as temporary nor was I told they were temporary. The threads also seemed (yes I did read them) to talk about membership cards and temporary c cards. Up until last Nov I was membership secretary of my club I stood down after the alloted max 3 years, previously I have also done social, publicity and chairman, doing 9 years in total out of the 14 I have been a member on the committee, so have no problem with volunteering. I also dont have any problem with complaining when required... Incidentally When I was membership secretary I never had any real problems with BSAC central, although we did opt not to go with the DD scheme in order to keep a level of control (We didnt feel that DD gave us any real benefits as a club) HQ were always pretty good about renewals and only lost ONE in 3 years (300ish membership renewals in that time) John R Quote:

It just needs a bit of planning so it doesnt become and inconvenience. I am due to dive on a boat for a week soon and I doubt my qualification card will come through in time. I contacted the skipper explained the situation said I had a photcopy of the application form with instructor signature and will that suffice and i got a reply back that it will. Another example of forward planning was when I misplaced my qual book I contacted BSAC and they confirmed with the dive centre in Gozo my qualifications. |

Your right i did contact them, several times and then again. What is peeing me off is a shop taking my money for 2+ months and not giving me anything. It was up to me to contact them and when i did i was continually told 2 weeks. So its not like there was a problem i spoke to them and they apologised and sorted it out. For most of that 2 months i keep quite on these forums even contributing to a thread with positive comments about BSAC. Instead i have expressed my displeasure i think twice now (once before it was resolved and once after). And yet some how that is "continuing to slag them off"??? 90% of what BSAC do i like and spend a lot of time telling people about it. That doesn't mean they are some kind of holy cow and shouldn't be criticised. No special rule applies to them that once they have finally fixed a problem every one should just go, "oh that's aright then", that way the commercial part will remain the national equivalent of a charity shop where piss poor service is expected. Call me weird but i expect more and want more for BSAC. Quote:
