We have a email remailer so we get a constant stream of 'Anybody up for thursday afternoon?' type emails to go with the regular weekend and wednesday evening dives. Diving always ought to be this easy. |

| like most things you get out what you put into it. it takes a while to get to know people socially (unless your one of those charming extroverts), then things kick off. i think alot of people can be put off by the general "cliqueness" (correct spelling?) of clubs, but that is to be expected to a certain extent and different degrees which IMO would occur with any club/social group to begin with. 1 club took me a few months to start feeling comfy, another took me 2 club nights. as someone pointed out getting involved in running/helping the club is a double edged sword. its both very rewarding but equally if not more draining and stressful. for me clubs now are more of a social thing |

| For me the club is....... 3 boats at the Marina 20 mins from my house - the biggest is 30 foot with twin 115hp! 2 compressors and a nitrox fill station - free gas! Access to shot line and deco trapeze. A lot of fun on the weekend........ Clubs are what you make them.

| I love going diving with the Club. You can't beat going diving with a bunch of friends. Yes you can organise it through the internet, and I like that too. But club diving is different (for me at least). And roughly £50 a year is worth it for weekly access to a central London pool. And I saved more on BSAC discounts last year in one Tony Backhurst Trip then I paid out in subs. So yes, it works for me. Janos

| I enjoy the club I'm a member of. We have our own rib, launching can be a pig but so be it. Compressor and a good social side, a few beers after the dive and a monthly meting as well as day trips, holidays and both structured and non structured training - ie last monthly meeting I took the ressus dolls along, including a baby one. We charge per boat dive and air fill, this keeps the membership down to £40 a year, those that dive more, pay more. Last year I dived away from the club more than in it but still happy. And although I neve wanted to I've been persuaded to do more training and that's free - ish!! (Adrian - one of our members has moved to Exeter (Viccy) she may drop you an email) Andy

Jeeze How about when your club has none of the above? |

We also dive. Quite a lot. But we are not trying to break any records you understand. The subs are only £25 a year. Which includes social membership of the local angling club. Course if you don't dive, don't drink and don't want friends we have absolutely nothing to offer
