Cheers for that info, not what I hoped to hear but thanks anyway.

No problem. The old business partner aluded to the fact that he and Kev were not mates anymore either. Some bridge burning going on between them I think.

I have done loads of dives at Grangewaters in the past when it was run by Divers 2000 and I was teaching there.
It is just like every London area dive site:- Poor viz almost all of the time, in the winter with no algae you can have 5 meters + until anyone stirs up the silty bottom.
Fine for checking out kit or just getting wet.

Thanks for the input ill have to load up my gear and go have a look for myself i think.

My initial reason for asking was that I heard if an Instructor takes students there for a course the Instructor dives for free as a thank you. Obviously with low profit margins free diving has its possible benefits but if the vis is no good then taking students there is a no go anyway.

I hasten to add i would have tried it myself first anyway I was just trying to get a feel for the place from anyone who had experience here

its open times, (unless they have changed in the last six months) are 07:30 -9:00 Sat and 06:30 - 09:00 Sun but dont quote me.

if you do see the two people running it say hi to Brian for me, it was him that got me into diving.

Leybourne is a pretty good training / Diving Lake.... Gets busy and viz can deteriorate when lots of OW Students in there (And some experienced Divers).. but a good little dive area, Had to open the second lake for divers on Sunday as it was very busy though
