Red face Did I tell you??? I'm going to the Farnes on Thursday!?!?

Well, this lot keep reminding you all of them going to Scapa, so I thought I'd remind you about me going to "my Scapa"!

This is something I've dreamed of since qualifying in 2005, and now I'm off tomorrow. Will's picking me up at 1.00 tomorrow lunchtime and we're off! The fool has got me insured on his Jaguar! Idiot!!! Speeding ticket here I come!

My kit is all checked and sorted. Another cylinder booked to take up, borrowed a set of PBB to use instead of my Weezle (Steve, yep, it's MUCH better - my trim in Wraysbury was spot on, had much better control of my buoyancy - now need to save for the Xerotherm Arctics), and bag will be packed tonight. Got a sitter sorted for the daughter and a kennels sorted for the dogs. I'm going away! Me!?!?! After NINE bloody years I'm having a break away for ME!!! Yeee ha!!!! (can you tell I'm a tad excited?!??! )

I've done the stalking thing, and gone into all of Seal Diver's videos on YouTube AND forwarded the link to just about everyone at work (telling them pretty much what I've told you lot) and they all want to take up diving now too! So I've got an idea of what to expect.

Would you Farnes regulars please give me some other clues as to what I should look out for, ask to see etc? Also, if the weather turns as bad as is planned and some of the dives get canned, anyone got any recommendations on where we could go walking! The hiking boots will be worn (my favourite shoes, them!?!?) so a nice after 3 hour trek could be arranged. Will has been warned and happy for that too!

So, over to you, any stories to tell about the Farnes, and any recommendations, please?!?!

Have a spectacular time. That coastline is lovely - Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne are worth a visit if you like walking along the coast.

I hope you see plenty seals, look forward to the trip report. x

Ooo, Stesh, you are the FONT of all knowledge! Cheers for that!

And thanks everyone else. I'm like a kid with a new bike. I wonder if this excitement I feel and have felt since qualifying, will ever subside! I got that lovely mushy warm feeling in my belly, and nope, you cynics out there, it isn't wind!!!!!!

Julie

You will, no doubt, have a fantastic time. The place is lovely and the trip out to the farnes is worth going for by itself (well maybe not from your place just for a boat trip).

Have a great time and make sure you eat lots of the local "delicacies" from the take aways.

Where are you staying?

Its good to hear that you are happy with your bouyancy - I guess it was the undersuit then?

All the best

Jay

One thing to watch out for - Speed Cameras, north of Alnwick.

Have a great time.
