Stroke Experience Day 2

Hi

I have a free day next Friday and I'd like to spend another day at Wraysbury on a stroke experience day. Now, my day with Scubee was great. I learnt a lot about myself, my configuration, my attitude to training and skills.

Since then I have managed to avoid the majority of the chimp training sessions, have purchased a harness with clips and breaks etc, and have generally been trying my hardest. I have even taken and passed the PAID instructor exams.

So I think I am well one the way to become a complete stroke. However, whilst Scubee was very knowledgeable about strokery and strokism in general, she would be the first to admit that she is only a "a bit strokey". Her configuration definitely has elements I can learn from, but there are also bits that look a little bit DIR to me. She obviously kept her skills sharp as well, and was a bit embarrassed by this.

If I going to continue in my long term goal of taking and passingf stroke1, I am going to need to spend some time with someone else, ideally someone who has never been experienced to DIR before, or knows only what they have read on the web. This way I can be assured of learning from a complete stroke.

Oh, if they ARE remotely interested in DIR, I can of course explain some of the ludicrous reasons why we do things the way we do, and show some of the pointless skills we spend 90% of our diving time practising becuase we think it makes us look cool. Although embarrassing, I would even be willing to explain how we justify these skills and what situations we foolishly believe they would be useful. I can explain the ethos behind DIR and all the teamwork element, and hopefully if you are a complete stroke, you will be able to bring me to my senses.

Anyone up for this, please drop me a pm.

G

complete innocence and maximum susceptibility for the probe insertion

Creep up with the lube and catch 'em when they're unawares

I've got an Inspo here with your name on it. Well, not actually your name, more like "Inspiration" on it, but it would definitely complete the transformation.

Can't do Friday, might be able to do Wednesday night though...

Digs.

i'm contemplating a solo dive tomorrow...

but i'm not sure how you could experience this level of stroki-ness with me?

somewhere in the sea, i've no idea of the tides yet but i will definitely get it wrong (BST corrections help immensely with this).

Go in by yourself and breath 80% from your booted 7l faber deco bottle, that is on the 'rich' right side. Also, ensure the suicide clips are securely hose clamped directly to the bottle, that string used on reels can snap you know

If you feel the need to use helium in you mix (no idea why someone would do this, it's hard enough to sink as it is), a few shots of it in the suit can work wonders to help you cool down after the exertion of manhandling 300bar tanks to the water - diving is a sport that requires no fitness!

And don't forget the buddy crack bottle smb

PS, put the cigarette out before putting your reg in
