| Personaly I do not condone it, however a shallow dive in sheltered conditions I would be tempted. I could see myseld doing it in these conditions. I havn't though and not planning to. Saying this, with some buddies I have been allocated in the past I was as pretty much solo diving as the buddies ignored me or whatever.

| Personally I very much enjoy solo diving, but you need to be confident with your kit and your skills. You must have redundancy and be practised in it's use. IMO, if you were actually in that place, you wouldn't need to ask the question. Juz

working commercialy you work alone but have the umbilical and comms to the surface. it's a tough decision but ultimately it's entirely yours. I'm not against it but you have to plan the dive and dive the plan and let people know exactly where you are at all times.

| I find it very boring. I like to dive with my missus and discuss the nice bits afterwards. Otherwise nothing wrong with it at all. Diving with an idiot is solo diving (that's why so many folk love their Pony tank Chris |

| Solo diving? Don't do it you'll die horribly Really, only an idiot would dive solo. Ok the above maybe not quite true - I dive more often solo than with a buddy (and no that is not an invitations for posts saying that confirms the bit about an idiot!

| I would love to dive solo. Imagine the freedom of not having to contantly look after someone else and worry are they ok, can i see them, can i reach them i f they lose their bouyancy, how much air have they got, am i going to fast for them! it'd be amazing to be able to look at, poke, go in whatever i wanted with only my own safety to worry about. However i am a sports diver, i've done 30 odd dives, never done redundancy or deco and would not even consider it at this stage. I quite like being alive and have alot of wrecks to see yet! You can still drown at 6m on a shallow bimble. Last edited by Naomi S : 13-06-08 at 07:59 PM. |
