Kid freindly Dive Charter

I'm looking to try and organise a South Coast Dive Trip with all dives less than 20m preferably some wrecks in that.

Also there will be a few JAOW - JR divers 12-15 years old.

I thought of JOW but I very much doubt there is any wrecks at less than 12m.

Is this sort of thing resticted to shore dives or are there any charters that have a few shallow but interesting wrecks at these depths.

I know this may be a tall order, but...

Also it may be for a long weekend/week break that further afield could be contemplated.

You could try Wittering Divers, the Mullbery is a great dive and only 10M, there are also a few other shallow dive's in the area

having an 11 year old JOW, I might be interested in joining you, although I haven't been brave enough to get him in UK waters yet.

He is limited to 12m max, and is anal about it to the point of telling me off for me being at 12.2m (yes... less than a metre below him in 20m vis... he could read my depth guage from where he was ))

Swanage?

Fleur is a small wreck in 14m approx. Lots of other shallowish stuff, and there is also deeper things like Kyarra, carentan etc for people who like 30m stuff. Also, the dive under the pier is a really great dive, and no deeper than 6m!

Divers down on the pier is a good shop, do fills etc.

Boats - Swanage diver and smoothhound run by divers down are both very good, as are sidewinder and Mary Jo run by martin (swanage boat charters).

How about Portland? The dredger's fairly shallow and has lots of life, and I think the top of the Countess is less than 12m as well.

And don't forget you'll have Chesil, although you'd probably need to help them over the beach.

Plymouth:

Scylla; 14m to the deck.
JEL; 7m-ish to the bow, down to 20-ish at the stern.
Abelard; 10 -13m depending on tide.
Hillsea Point Rock; starts at about 9m.
Great Mewstone.
Glen Strathallen.
Le Poulmic.

Lots more in the 20m range too.

Gets my vote, its still one of my favourite dives apart from the concrete reinforcing 'spikes' poking out of course, they arent that bad, but you do need to be aware of them, might just add enough 'danger' to really excite a Junior though

Been looking at there site and If I book the boat for the day I can state what dives and they have a good few below 12 let alone below 20.

£21 - £24 per dive - not unreasonable prices - and on land between dives, so may get my somach to settle!!
