    Not if it's like mine.

Which is a case in point. i most certainly did not get what I believed I paid for with that.

No more of my money will ever go to that shop. Even if they are (or were) selling regulators at a silly price.

    I found the following:

    Mares Abyss 22 - £250
    Mares Abyss 42 - £320
    Apeks ATX40 DS4 - £99
    Poseidon XStream - £150

Now there are a big difference in these prices - is there a big difference in performance? I've had a Mares Abyss and it was superb but you can get a ATX40 for £150/£220 cheaper!

Are we sometimes sucked in on paying top dollar for dive kit - because "How much is your life worth?"

Obviously its not just regs, there are many other instances of a massive price difference but it has got me wondering if dive kit can be equated to cars?

    Is a Abyss a Merc and a ATX40 a Ford?

Is an OThree a BMW and a Predator a VW?

Makes you think eh..........................Or well at least it does me!
If i won the triple rollover jackpot tomorrow i'd still stick with the DS4 with a tx 40, the tx exhaust is better than the atx imho, less bubbles infront of your face.

Ditto what woz said, look at the mares hub. Still, bet they sold loads to new divers who knew sh1t all. Thinkin on abit more, bet those same ex hub wearers never buy anything from mares again

Now, now. The Hub was a fine piece of equipment priced to fit the more discerning diver. The design was superb and the air powered cam band quite literally saved hours of stress with divers worrying about whether their cylinders were going to fall out.

Actually, now I've thought about it, it was absolute guff wasn't it.

I did like the feature whereby if your buddy wanted to share your air they practically had to nosh you off first! Fabulous piece of design.

I thought having the AAS reg zipped into a pocket was particularly clever.

This may not surprise some of you but when the HUB was first being marketed I was very, very interested in one.
