As just about everyone knows Skoda's are all built from VAG parts anyway (if my Skoda dealer hasn't got the parts in stock i walk over the road to the Audi dealer).

It's a real pity that more people don't still think the way you do though, as Skoda's are no longer the bargain they used to be.
Now more people are aware at how good they are compared to the rest in the VAG range, the price of them has inevitably risen. (all be it still less than VW / Audi)
Martin, can you tell me why they don't make RIBS out of ABS plastc? Fiberglass is much stronger when you need to keep the weight down, Lotus, TRV, Cateram need I go on?? If you have a crash yes it will splinter and desintergrate but so does all other materials, the car would be the least of my worries.

I know that Skodas are part of VAG group and they use the same parts such as switches, but the quality of plastics and leather used in Audi is far better. Everything feels quality. Skodas look bloody ugly, every one of them.

I bough mine for fun, how many Skodas can you take the roof off and do 140+mph, humm none!

You gotta love YD ....someone uses an analogy to illustrate a point .... then we end up using the analogy as the subject to row about

    Mares Abyss 42 - £320
    Apeks ATX40 DS4 - £99
    Poseidon XStream - £150
Now there are a big difference in these prices - is there a big difference in performance? I've had a Mares Abyss and it was superb but you can get a ATX40 for £150/£220 cheaper!

Are we sometimes sucked in on paying top dollar for dive kit - because "How much is your life worth?"

Obviously its not just regs, there are many other instances of a massive price difference but it has got me wondering if dive kit can be equated to cars?

    Is a Abyss a Merc and a ATX40 a Ford?

Is an OThree a BMW and a Predator a VW?

Makes you think eh..........................Or well at least it does me!
Were are the XStreams for £150 from, they were about £400 a set when I bought mine?

Apparently they will be at the NEC Dive Show I am told (three mates have them bought for £150 last year and the chap they got them from has said he will be there this year as well).

Thanks Jamie, sorry for the hyjack but was just trying to get my point accross. I do belive you get what you pay for to a certain extent.

Personaly I would go for the XStreams then Apex, I have never had problems with either brand.

I still wouldnt pay twice as much for almost the same car though

As for doing 140 with the roof down, I wouldnt try it, I did 100 and it wasnt pretty

Plus you look like a hairdresser driving one!

PS Ugly is in the eye of the beholder

Gary I had 135mph the other day with the roof down and the wind deflector up, there was no difference from 80mph.

You are right though, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
