Diving in Bali.

Hi All,

I would like to arrange for my better half and I to go diving in Bali.

Has anyone ever been diving there? If so can you give me a few ideas on whether a live aboard or day boat is better etc?

Which companies you have used and owuld you recommend them?

Thanks

Paul

While there I only tried Tulamben, but they were getting plenty of Mola Mola around Nusa Penida.

Bali is a great place to go and the divings pretty good fun, fast drifts, variable water temp.

Blogged here: Under Pressure Blog Archive Diving in Bali, August 2008

The Liberty at Tulamben is a great wreck, the drop off at Tulamben was also a nice reef dive.

If your going to dive Tulamben it can get very busy, id recommend doing it with a local outfit as they can get you to the wreck shore dive earlier than anybody else which means you can almost have the wreck to yourself.

At Tulamben I stayed at the Emerald Hotel and dived with the onsite team SSDC who were brilliant fun.

For Nusa Penida, I done a few days boat diving with Bali Scuba out of Sanur, www.baliscuba.com and I thought they were good value and professional.

Nusa Penida has some wicked drifts and very pretty reefs.

I wasn't lucky enough to see Mola Mola or Manta but others did see them the days I was out.

I really enjoyed my road trip around the Island, its a majestic place to visit so with regards to your question re a live aboard, I'd say if you haven't been to Bali then go enjoy the island.

Hope that helps.

Davie
