Top night out
Used to go there in 1989-1991 mini bus of about 8 of us from Sheffield, had some great nights.

Frequently went, when I was a stude up there in the late 80s. We tended to prefer Konspiracy (pronounced Konspiraseh ) down 't road. Better atmos, slightly less mindless violence and the bouncers weren't all maniacs.

The Hacienda - Mad ferrit!!
A few times, from around 1988/9 onwards, until some of the violence got a bit stupid. And to be honest, the queues were getting ridiculous. Started going to the Cypress Tavern instead - same great music, no grief.

Although it's still a great city to enjoy yourself in, Manchester doesn't quite have the same buzz that it had back then. You're not missing anything over there!
