| THis Firefox stuff won't display my favourites either, nor does it have a tab for me to hit to display them. I'm sure it'll be worth once we get going, but this is gash so far.

| Let's do the helpdesk approach: (1) Is your modem switched on? (2) Is it plugged in? Seriously: Have you tried using an IP address? Could be that it's not got the DNS configured. . .

| OK, I've completely removed/uninstalled the programme and then reloaded it - and it's still making a twat of itself. Any other ideas guys?

| Sorry Bren, needed to go home. The only think I can think of is that you are on a ADSL connection that is a modem right into the back of the PC. Not an ADSL router. If this is the case then you do not have a permenent connection to the internet and you need to dial up. IE will do this for you automatically if this is the case, then tear down the connection when you quit IE. Don't know that Firefox will do this. If this is the case then the symptoms would be as described and the following would prove this What happens if you start using IE, then once you know IE is working, you start FireFox - but here is the important bit you leave IE running. Does Firefox stilll work? If this works then in "My Network Connections you will see a Network connection that has something to do with your ADSL connection. You just need to double click this before you go into Firefox. Only other option I can think of is that Norton AV may have a part of it to stop spyware from sending info withut you knowing about it. I have used Zone-Alarm and this has this type of facility. If this is the case then it may be that you need to tell Norton that Firefox can access the internet. Hope some of this helps.
