| At one point had my grubby mitts on a Burroughs B1700 or B1800 mainframe which was the Police PNC back in the early 80's at Scotland Yard. I was only 12 at the time and it was my first glance at a 'proper' computer. Then my School had a Link 480z network with a Winchester disk and 10" floppies, running CP/M and a rudimentary network which would crash if you typed h: or anything which didn't exist. Oh - and IBM hard disks which were removeable. Units looked like massive fridge freezers and you would place these plattens into them and twist the bayonet to lock them in. Nightmare!
