Question XP SP2 and Norton Firewall

Right then, I've tried all I can think of and I'm stuck...

Has anyone else installed SP2 onto XP and noticed problems with Norton Firewall?? When I enable it, all internet traffic seems to stop completely and when I disable it, all seems fine...

Any Ideas folks??? I have tried all my usual tricks and sources without any joy.....

Cheers
Neil

No - mine works fine. Have you tried uninstalling Norton and the reinstalling it?

Swap to ZoneAlarm

I know you asked me about this one.

I installed SP2 on serveral PC's at home. And have just got ICS working again.
I have XP SP2 with ZL and the MS firewall on the main PC with USB broadband. Turn off ZL and my son can get to the internet, back on and he can't........Control While the MS firewall will still provide some protection.
Both machines have AVG which is set to auto update.

Regards
Nick

Got XP SP2 and zonealarm - no problems. Did you leave the firewall on while upgrading ? - this might be the problem. SP2 needs to be there first

I use Tiny Personal Firewall with XP Pro. My other pc with XP Home doesn't work with it though, but works fine with ZoneAlarm.

If you are using a third party firewall with XP, make sure you turn off the built in firewall first - it's not that good anyway, only blocks incoming traffic but lets all outgoing traffic through.
