Man you are so over your head, you're gonna have to do deco on the way back up.

I'm sure theres some useful stuff around that you could do to create a really basic site. Let me have a think about it and I'll post some links for you tomorrow. If this is your first time building a site, dont make any plans for a while

Thumbs up Html-kit

Have a look at HTML-KIT from www.chami.com it's free and easy to use.

Which I can E-Mail you.. But I looked at it and thought " Oh Crap"
I once made up a fairly simple Web Page on Microsoft Publisher 2000.
It was a breeze

If you have some hosting space, and access to a MySQL Server (usually provided by the hosting co. if you ask nicely) you may be able to get away with something like a PHP web site. The trick is that you don't need to design it - it's like Lego website. You just add modules.

You upload the whole thing, and then run the config script which walks you through installation.

See Postnuke for example. That's what I use for my website. (I think there's some other PN users on here too).

try download.com there's a whole host of downloadable software there for you to try and (ideally, but not mandatorily) buy.

It doesn't do anything spectacular but I still use Netscape Composer that comes with Navigator. It's like a word processor that produces an HTML file, great for just simple text & piccies stuff but you still need a rudimentary HTML knowledge (which isn't difficult -- I bought "HTML in Easy Steps"). I do my own site (www.lizardland.co.uk) with it. I've tried a few free programs but I got a bit fed up with them as they aren't always that reliable.

Thanks for all the advice, I now think I´ll ask some other bugger do to it instead. Give me 12 months and it may be ready for public viewing, I may find it easier to draw a nice picture and just stick over everyones moniter.

Pete.

Try acehtml, its very easy and you don't really need a lot of knowledge to do it (assuming you know what you want it to look like)
