| OK, I know there has been some discussion on this topic before, but I am looking for some fairly specific (I think) advice. Those who have been posted before may recall that I said I had bought an iRiver PMP140. Well, I sent it back It is no criticism of iRiver generally. It's just that that particular model was too big, too heavy and when I thought about it, I don't really need the video option. I've done some research as to the variety of options out there, but the variety is such that I seem to be more confused than ever! What I want: 20GB+ Play variety of audio formats Remote control (LCD would be nice) Ideally to create playlists on the go (non-essential) Radio Transfer and view JPEG images (without PC) Record function I was tempted by the iRiver H340, but I have read a few posts on misticriver that seems to suggest that iRiver are not going to be providing any future firmware upgrades. It seems like the H10 is where they are throwing all their weight in terms on new development. (see here http://www.misticriver.net/boards/sh...ad.php?t=10778 Any suggestions anyone? Thanks

| Well Fi Id go for the H340. It does everything that you currently need. So, there is a question mark over the future release of firmware but I wouldn't buy any system on promises of future support. I want what I buy to do what I want when I buy it. Go on, you know you want it. And if you don't like it, then just send it back again. Or, goto www.advancedmp3players.co.uk - they have a search feature where you plug in your requirements and it gives you a list of suitable machines.

| I own an H120 from Iriver, and it does almost all what you want. A company called Rockbox is also developing 3rd party software which will take over from the irver guys as they don't make anything for it anymore. I have had mine for a while now, and can't fault it. If you want more info, then PM me, as I can be a right bore when droning on about the merits of the H120. Rereading your post, I think the H320/340 would be your best bet. The rockbox dudes are going to do that set of players next methinks....

| Also, the mysticriver site (an excellent place so thanks for the tips) seems to show how to play video on the H-series of players. I've picked up a number of tips which had me busily ripping some DVD's and putting them onto the PMP. Excellent!
