Pinnacle Studio Help

I've got Pinnacle Studio 9 and I'm trying to put together a DVD from video clips I've recorded on a JVC minDV camcorder.

I have managed to create a DVD menu, but when burn the disc and play it in the player it says 'No disc' on the player and nothing happens.

Yet If I try playing it on the PC, with Media Player it works fine!

I know the DVD player is not locked to any region, so I thought it would work fine.

Has anybody used Studio 9, or have any tips on this?

Thanks in advance

is the disc you are recording onto compatible with the non PC dvdplayer

my sharp dvd player only plays DVD-R will not recognise any other format

i.e DVD-RAM DVD+R DVD-RW DVD+RW

try another format of disc or manufacturer of disc even

Yeah, it's a DVD-R.
I've had no problems with watching other stuff on the player using the same batch of discs. I've tried about 3 brands, everytime I get the same prob.

Beats me.......

Yeah it does, but to access the Online Help, which is what you really want, you need to register.....................and I can't (if you know where I'm coming from!)

Might start using Adobe Premier instead, I had no probs with that.

Cheers.

Can you burn the DVD onto your hard drive and then burn to disc via Nero? Not ideal but it may help in the short term

Yeah, might try that also. What's got my back up about this is that I have since deleted the original files, I mean 3Mb a second they use - soon fills up your drive, and I've 3 x 80Gb drives!

I've now gotta get them off the camcorder again. Think I'll do it when I've got a shed load of free time!

Read an article on the next gen DVDs coming out. Apparently this guy from the mastering studios in Holywood was saying that, even on current DVDs, the compression rate from the original studio masters is 98%!

Yeah, I have heard something along those lines. The next generation is supposed to make current DVD look like Betamax compared to VHS!

Can't see it myself, but technology moves that quick.............................
