| Many thanks for all your help chaps. Had a bash with quite a few of the tools suggested. The geekstogo (damn good name) site also had some good instructions.. Just waiting to see if the people on geekstogo think the registry log looks clean to them - the symptoms have certainly dissapeared for now, although last time the thing did re-spawn itself. Thanks again. Paul |

| ooops kind of made a BIG mistake Don't know what i've done but i clicked on roadrunnermatts photo's to have a look at them and my comp started giving me all sorts of messages saying that it's got spyware on it. big panic and turn thing off and unplug, waited and turn back on now just get random pop ups and things telling me to click here to get rid of spyware. think i'll just turn it off and go home early - ooops don't want to tell the boss, but he's off till tuesday and his comp keeps playing up with loads of pop ups so i can always blame it on that as they're linked (?networked?) I think it's his ISP - if it's a free one, then they make their money from cr*p like this. Try getting a pop-up blocker such as google toolbar (which also has some funnies if you install it with the advanced option) and/or spybot.
