| I have a great long list of people i want to send emails to - a distribution list. However, these are saved in excel, not in outlook. I have several letter to send out to them and would love to bung all the addresses in the "to" section rather than send them out one at a time. However, i dont want the people on the list to see the other people it has been sent to. I just got an email in which had the address as "undisclosed recipients" so it can obviously be done. Can i hide the other recipients other than putting them in as a bcc? Any ideas?

| You deserve to be red blobbed until the sun explodes for storing records like that in Excel. However, you should be able to import your data into a distribution list, and use that list for the email. http://www1.hollins.edu/docs/CompTec...ion%20List.pdf

| It's a while ago but IIR I highlighted the email addresses (they were in a column in excel) and copied them, went into new message, clicked on BCC and pasted them in the address line there - then put my own address in the 'to' - that should work for what you are trying to do. If you want to try this I will PM you (I have three email accounts running at the moment) Sue

| Last time i did that i got several emails back saying "there is no XXXXXXX working here, i presume you sent this by error" as it makes one name appear at the top and must show it as being addressed to them also. Either that, or there are some bloody thick people out there!

That may mean there is an error in their address or it's an old one. I use it a lot when I put out tender requests. Providing you have a real person in the to field it should work

| Once you create an email group, name and prefix with 4 capital letters. So eg: a YD email group would be YDEG. You end up with titles like. YDEG - Shiny boltsnap sale! You do the same when punching in the address, just type in YDEG. This way you can have loads of email groups and even if you have several with the same person on it, they know where it comes from and what it's likely to be about. Tel. |
