| There are several programmes that do this but most of them seem to be mainly based on trial and error. I use Photoshop Limited Edition 5. I use the "Image size" function to reduce the width to say, 1000 pixels, or even as low as 500, depending on where I want to post the image, and then save it as "Low" quality. After that, it's just a matter of checking the result and if the image is still too big going back and reducing the inage size even more. It's a bit of a chore but I don't think there's a blanket way of reducing the size of several images at once.
