Grrr.Video Capturing
Help!

I have a shed load of Video's I want to convert to DVD. I have a Adaptec VideoOh Media center. Which captures (apparently) DVD and VDV I have so far completely failed to get it to recognise and capture from a video player. It picks up my Cam corder no problem but just doesn't capture from the Video.

Has anyone managed to do this yet? I have tried with a the red yellow and white leads into 2 different scart connectors an diddly. I can get it to capture sound though the red and white lead but do I then use a aerial cable to capture the video?

Any help would be appreciated.. cheers

I am not that all scart sockets on Vid players offer a video out signal, don't suppose their is a choice of two on your machine? Will the video play to a tv set through that scart, that would offer a quick diagnosis.

No chance that your two scart-phono thingies are set to input rather than output, there are some that are switchable, and possibly some that are one way only (will your camera play to a tv through these, if so it looks like they are 'input' configured rather than 'output'. The one I use for all sorts is a scart to 6 way phono plug.

Ay, I have one of those 6 way scart jobbies. The phono plugs are labled up vid in, vid out, left in, left out etc.
Your problem is as suggested, you have an input cable so no output is coming out of the scart socket or cable. Some vids have two scart sockets on them and one will be labled out/in. HTH

Hmm its a possability I suppose, The Scarts I am using are marked up audio L r and video. It never occurred to me that they are set up input. i'll go see what the local Scart Shop has to offer cheers!

I bought a cable to scart adaptor sometime ago and it has a selector for input and output. This might be what you are looking for.

Thx for the replies yes i do need a scart with a Input output switch.. You'd thik they'd supply you with one dont you! thanks all I knew you would not let me down. i might even upload some fotoage of the Falklands and a very dubious balloon dance I did!
