I'll just add that the past couple of people who have come to me with 'slow running computer syndrome' were cured by un-installing Google Desktop Search [spit]

Whatever I've done putting the Foxy wotsit on my compter seems to have cured the problem!

Firefox is, indeed, the wasp's elbows.

I do like the fact you can import bookmarks into it from IE and the tabbed windows.

Why on earth Microcrap couldn't make IE like that, I'll never know...

A big plus is that FF doesn't seem to get hit by as many pop-ups and search bars as IE either. Which is nice.

Firefox also allows you to build Google into your Firefox browser too - I use it as my default search engine, as it's now my in-built/default Firefox search engine, and it's a breeze with zero loss of speed and a massively convenient way to toggle between your current webpage and a search

This and thousand other ways to maximise the speed and operation of your Firefox browser - just read this wee thread.
