| I had a Sony T1 - I got rid of it because I wanted a more traditional camera with changable lenses etc. but as a handbag sized camera it was fab - it had a large viewing screen on the back and I think it was 5 mega pixels. http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/photogr.../187676/prices

| I have a Panasonic Lumix something or other (D70 I think). I bought it last year having seen reviews in What Digital Camera or some such magazine... it scored over 90% in their tests and I've not been disappointed. It's small, light and yet packs an impressive array of features including "normal" zoom and "digital" zoom (whatever that means!!!) but also has the advantage of an impressive 5mp... Like I said, haven't been disappointed with it... oh, apart from not being able to get a housing for it calski |

| i've got a sony dsc-p32 3megapixels which has just had it's 3rd birthday. (it's spent half it's life out in a boat) and it's still doing it's stuff! pretty much idiot proof (even the 4yr old can operate it) all the pics ive posted on this site were taken with it. RECOMMENDED.

| Depends on your budget. A lot of us around here use the Olympus 5050 (now out of production, 5060, and latterly 7070. Look in the camera forums for more information on them. They are great for underwater stuff but also the usual. Bit more bulky than some of the compact digis around but very flexible, good optics etc. If you get her one that you can put in a housing, you could borrow it as well!
