| Sniping software can be set to fire in with a bid in the last seven or so seconds that's the secret, you would be very lucky to beat them timing manually. But it's damn frustrating. If you really want to beat them, dont bid just one increment up from current bid as they will re-bid upto the sniping buyer's limit if there is time. good luck,

| I use www.esnipe.com You can also put in multiple bids for different lots, and it if you win one it will cancel the rest. Janos

| Opps sorry Dianne didn't know you were bidding. I haven't heard from the winning bidder yet so you might still be lucky. Never heard of this sniping thing. |

| These automatic bidding sites will only bid what you tell them to bid, not automatically win the auction for you. From what you've written, I suspect you were prepared to pay more for whatever it was you didn't win. If that's the case you should have bid the maximum you were prepared to spend, then you'd have no cause for complaint. Most experienced eBayers now snipe at the last minute (last few seconds if you've got broadband) in order not to get swept up in a bidding war. The trick is to bid the maximum amount you're prepared to spend. This does not necessarily mean that you will have to cough this much up, it will however give you an edge if someone else is doing the same thing or the winning bidder has actually bid more than eBay is showing as the highest bid. |

| I reckon on being able to get in within the last 5 seconds, you need to keep an eye on how fast you can refresh the page on your browser, and allow for that with your bid timing.
