I think you may find that there are any number of these going around. Basically they send 'convincing' emails from all the major banks to many email addresses in the theory that eventually you will receive a scam email from your own bank and assume that this is real. Personaly, I won't respond online to any contact via email from my bank. I will contact them via telephone if they need a response.

The new version of Internet Explorer - IE7 - has an Anti-Phishing filter built into it. There is a Beta2 version which you can download from Microsoft's Website if you use a genuine version of Windows and you don't mind a few bugs.

I think it's actually quite good - I've been using it for a couple of weeks now at work (Well, I did until I left today anyway )

I get two or three a week from Barclay's, loyds/tsb Nat West etc.
Odd as i only bank with one of them!

As i understand it, NON of the major Banks will ever ask any of their customers to log on and update anything via an email!

They ALL have a SPOOF email service!

Just spend a few seconds forwarding the mail to spoof@ whoever

And let the banks do the work!

Cheers,
Paul

The best Barclays 'scam' is the illusion that you'll get '10%' on your savings account.

1) You have to pay your wages in too .... Not that you're going to go overdrawn with them, but just in case they've just ramped up their fees (bet they don't show that ideas meeting on telly)

2) Since it is a regular savings account, you'll get 10% on the first amount you pay in, but what about the next month ? Well, it is not in there for the 'full year', so you won't get the full 10% on it. The next month even less and so on. You get sod all on the 12th payment.

3) The offer is only open for a year, after that, it is back to an account with a cr*p rate.

'Nice' ads, shame about the substance ....

On a similar note, there is a man who calls round at young ladies houses and asks to see their tits.

DO NOT SHOW HIM YOUR TITS.

He is just trying to see your tits.
