Win XP / Outlook Express security.

My friend has a Win XP system and uses OE as his mail service.

OE is examing his mail and stopping, for example, files with a .pps extention because of the virus danger.

How does he switch this off? Although I have an XP machine I use M/Outlook 2000 as my mail service and it is a bit different.

Tks
Bryan

Click Tools.

• Click Options.

• Click the Security tab.

• Clear the check box next to "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."

• Click OK.

It's an SP2 thing. It's even more funky in full-blown Outlook as you have to pish about with registry entries, but it gives you more control about what to allow and what not to allow. It's only blocking them from sight, he will still be receiving the files, so doing this should make them all magically reappear.
