I have the Uwatec Travel trek on mine which I can use for trips away then I can import into Smarttrek.

I never managed to get the PC to talk to the prime either, so I have to use it. Seems pretty good though!

I log my dives on a spreadsheet, easy to copy between PC & PDA, no need for fancy commercial packages.

I use http://www.aquadivelog.org/ for Palm. It can plug into suunto computer's . You can get extra plugins (Signature capture, GPS) and I think it can use vplanner to plan dives. And it's free.
