settings to reduce spyware

hmm i used an online guide sometime back to make my internet more secure and stuff but i lost the link when my HD died.

now I am getting more spyware detected etc whereas previously my PC was pretty darn safe. it passes all the online safety tests from another website which I lost the link to as well (i think the guys who made smoothskin firewall or similar)

a right pain to lose all my bookmarks,

there was also settings to do in windows to speed it up and tweak it, i think it was from somewhere called "black something"

sorry abit vague but hopefully someone knows what i am talking about.

or something similar to it.

I dont know which post your refering to? but heres a couple of sites you can use to test if any of your PC ports are open to attack. I've used then both and found them to be very useful.
