Question Epson Stylus Photo RX425

This is my second inkjet printer and the quality is good. We have been using this machine for over a year. We print quite a lot of photos. However it is eating ink cartridges. A lot more than our other printer, also an Epson. We watch the ink monitor and it cleans at random, using ink, then after a clean we are having to replace cartridges. Not happy at all.
Does anyone else have a similar experience with this printer.
Does anyone know how to make the machine use less ink?

this printer needs service at an epson centre the sponges that take the old ink away are properly full and each time the head cleans it cant get rid of the ink quickly enough

this causes the cartridge to think it needs a new head clean

hope this helps

You could try reading this link to see if it can help reduce the amount of cleaning, I've used it to bring my printer back from the dead a couple of times.
