Really basic Access VB question

I am rather rusty on using Access 2002 and even more so on VB and expression builder.

I have two fields first [A]is a combo box looking for supplier names, but stores the supplier code to the database table.

Second [b]is an unbound text box where I want to temporarily store the supplier name (and also used elsewhere for a subform)

What I want to achieve is to set [b]= [A] after updating A. cant make it work using expression builder or VB.

Please could someone write out the correct syntax I should be entering in [A]

if [A] is a multicolumn combobox retrieving supplier code but displaying supplier name you could try the following formula for you text box:

TextBox.ControlSource=DLookup("[SUPPLIER_NAME]","[SUPPLIERS]"."[SUPPLIER_CODE]="&[ComboBoxA])
Remember to insert the column/table names relevant to your database

this might also work if the ComboBox returns just the supplier code.

HTH

Cheers/Nic

Don't wrestle with a pig. You'll only get as dirty as the pig & the pig likes it
