The UK uses PAL I. So a UK TV will work anywhere with that standard. If you're in a country that uses a variant of PAL and connecting to the cable box via SCART/S-video, it should work. It probably won't work if connected up the the RF out connection. Jason

| Thanks guys. I am specifically trying to work out whether a UK TV would work in Singapore, but I keep getting conflicting answers. I have been told that SGP is on the UK system and therefore UK TVs are compatible. Anyone know if that is the case? *edit* Thanks Jason, it looks like both are on PAL but different standards. Anyone know for sure if a cable decoder box would work? Surely we have at least one Sky engineer on YD!!! Last edited by rooster : 19-06-06 at 05:22 PM. |

| I am sure it would work. Most TV's these days are semi multi standard. It would cost too much to make them all dfferent for all the different standards. Why do you want to take one out? I am sure it would cost more to ship than to buy a new one out there. Electronics are very much cheaper than here. |

However, I have asked a colleague who is a CATV SI and his response is as follows: Quote:
