passwords?

I know this is possible, but how can i stop it. I have passwords for YD, Emails etc and thought they are 'safe'...BUT on a number of occasions have had another person on the pc I use access these passwords and get in. Firstly how? and what can i do to prevent it?
The passwords are not getting changed but obviously a folder or file is logging them.

Zepp - From Internet Explorer select:

Tools..., Internet Options..., Content..., Autocomplete...

Clear the 'Use Autocomplete for User names and Passwords on forms' box.

Under 'Clear autocomplete history' select 'Clear Forms' and 'Clear Passwords' then OK everything to close the Internet Options tab down..

Should do the job - if you don't get these options let me know which version of Internet Explorer you are running (Mine is ancient) and I will have a shufti.

Cheers,
Dutch

I thought I'd give it a try thinking I have some half dozens sites wich I use passwords. Well after a week I listed some 22 sites with different usernames & passwords! It's suprising how many sites you log into. The program seems to work well and can generate passwords for you.

If using public machines you should try to delete the history AND all cookies before you leave. also when loggin on make sure you don't have the 'save my login etc' box checked.

.........

22 sites and I'll bet a lot need different length passwords. Trouble I find is coming up with something non-mathematical when they want more than a 7 digit password.

Just updated the keypass software. It's been invaluable. Out of curiosity Do you tend to use the same username/password or do you always make a different one for each site? For banking I have it totally different but for forums and normal sites I tend to always use the same ones.

Just counted - I have a total of 58 sites/places where I need to list username and passwords!

Heard a good idea for those with a poor memory who want to use the same password for lots of sites, use the same password, but add, say, the last three characters of the web site to it.
