| have you changed/updated/installed any new software or hardware, this could be a piece of hardware playing up but most of the time these things happen because something has changed. IMHO before throwing it in the bin backup your emails etc and rebuild the O/S |

| What you are seeing is known as the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). is there anything mentioned after the words DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ? Which version of Windows are you running? cheers, Paul Last edited by PBrown : 11-07-06 at 06:08 PM. |

| BSOD Course of least resistence: FDISK & FORMAT Of-course, you could spend a week trying to solve the problem...

| "STOP 0x000000D1 IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Kbdclass.sys" Error Message When You Try to Shut Down the Computer Wow, a genuine IRQ interrupt error. Not seen one of those in about 10 years! The link above is what Microsoft says about it. It refers to a Logitech mouse, are you using one ? Even if not, your mouse might be using Logitech drivers. The microsoft site also thinks about this: Stop 0x000000D1 Error Message When You Turn Your Computer Off I fancy the first one myself, maybe the PC has crashed and corrupted the mouse drivers. If it can be rebooted in safe mode, you may be able to remove and reinstall the mouse drivers. If there is no urgent data on it, the easiest course of action might be to just format and start again, because as someone else mentioned you might just spend a week on it and not fix it. ![]()

| It's probably the motherboard with dodgy capacitors on it. Quite a common problem. The caps ooze crap out of themselves over the circuit board, causing random things to happen... Welcome to Badcaps.net! ColinM

| I'm with harlequin on this one. It can be a hardware issue, a compatibility issue, or a software issue. Easiest thing is to fdisk and format and reinstall windows. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then its a hardware issue. |
