Its a spyware brower (anti-spyware) in other words making sure you dont get random programmes installed on your computer that you didnt kno about that watch what your doing n send you spam ema8ils according to your 'interests' that it finds out about... ohh n stops the programmes that copy your bank numbers n stuff to cheat you outta money... ... the SiS stands for Silicone interigated Systems.

err, it's nothing to do with spyware. It's a utility for configuring a RAID controller.

Zepp - if you are not using any form of RAID (i.e multiple hard disks) then I would just ignore it, or simply uninstall it if it is irritating you.

cheers
Paul

Lightbulb Sounds like what Paul said...........

As Paul says, sounds more like a RAID control panel/status monitor to me.

Couple of ways to check -

1) Whip the side of the PC and have a look how many hard disks you have - if it's more than one you may well have a RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks IIRC) where two or more disks are "seen" by the PC as one disk for data protection and/or speed.
This is the "quick and dirty" way , then if you find two or more hard disks -

2) Assuming you're running Windows XP, right-click on "My Computer" and select "Properties", click on the "Hardware" tab, click on the "Device Manager" button, click on the + by "Disk Drives" and have a look at the description for your hard disk - it may say something like "SiS RAID Array Disk Device" or similar, right click the disk device and select "Properties", click on the "Volumes" tab and click "Populate", it will list which volumes or partitions are on that device.

Should give you an idea whether you have RAID or not, I would guess you could probably just uninstall the utility any way as they usually don't do much except display the current RAID status.

HTH

Steve
