| Technology: Discuss Anything I can do about this? in the Non-Diving Related Forums forums: I have just had 30 returned emails that I never sent and a couple of quarantined viruses (or are they ... |

| Not Trojan Netsky things are they? I only ask as Messagelabs have caught loads of these over the last few weeks coming in for me here - I was trying to work out where the e-mail addy was picked up and it could have been YD, but I doubt it. All the IP have been the same though Quote:

| As mentioned, sounds like your email addy has been spoofed... If it is your work address, it may not have been "picked up" from using YD or anywhere else, it could be a randomly generated "lucky guess" The chances are it will stop after a few days (spam tends to have a very short "life-cycle", as anti-spam companies get the details and add them to their block lists). Do you (or your IT guys) have the ability to block based on sender IP? This would get around the piles of email in your inbox. Regards Andrew PS> The plural of Virus is "Virii"... although I see "viruses" being used frequently (mainly in US English docs). |

| It could also be that someone who has your email address in their contacts list has a virus that sends out email's using his /her complete contacts list. Its been doing the rounds for a few years now Sean

Oh well....thanks for your input. greens inbound. |

| I had that happen with one of my business email addresses and, no, there is nothing you can do - it is about the same as trying to stop someone somewhere in the world claiming to be you! At least, that was the case when I was affected by this. Also, this is nothing to do with YD. I have my email address available in my profile and I have had no problems.

| Just to clarify....I did not suspect this to be associated with anything to do with YD or its' members. My work email is not availanle on YD. Just posed the question because I know I'd get more sense out of you guys than I would out of my IT department! |
