I bought a 19" monitor from Aria, it was their own make and quite cheap, £122 inc vat + delivery. It works alright for me, if you want to spend some more of your money they have a good range. 20" for £289 inc vat +del.

if you go for Aria, I'd recommend paying the little extra for their dead pixel guarantee.

The unit should then be defect free and if it isn't (i.e. just 1 dead pixel) you can return it.

Without this kind of cover you're then into the grey areas of how many faulty pixels for that size monitor actually constitute a "faulty" monitor, and this may vary depending upon the mfr warranty terms.

Hi John

You have a Staples in Chester, they are doing a couple of different makes between £139 and £149 for both 17 and 19 inch, some models have an 8ms response as well.

Just bought an ACER 17'' from Argos. £129.00. The speakers are tinny because it's not 'multi-media', but I got a really good pair for £25.00, also from Argos.
